Recently, the selection process for the 2025 Earth Science Popularization Works Competition has been successfully concluded. The work "Ammonites—Star Organisms of the Ancient Oceans," created by teachers Xu Yan and Li Fuqiang from the Yifu Museum of our department, was awarded the first prize in the article category.
This competition received over 1,700 popular science works of various types from more than 210 participating organizations. After undergoing qualification review, preliminary evaluation, and final evaluation, a total of 129 works were awarded first, second, and third prizes, along with several individual excellence awards and outstanding organization awards. Among them, the article category included 7 first prizes, 14 second prizes, 21 third prizes, and 35 excellence awards.
The competition was co-organized by the China Geological Library (Geoscience Literature Center of the China Geological Survey) and the Li Siguang Geological Science Award Foundation. It was jointly co-hosted by the Geological Science Popularization Committee of the Geological Society of China, China Natural Resources News, the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, China Mining News, and the Institute of Natural Culture at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). The "Xuexi Qiangguo" learning platform served as the cooperative media.
