On April 22nd, the Yifu Museum connected more than 50 primary and secondary school students in Liziyuan Community, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, and brought them a wonderful lecture on cloud based geoscience popularization, leading them to cherish the Earth and explore the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

What are the characteristics of minerals closely related to human life? What are the common minerals in our daily lives? What are the differences between colorful ores Dr. Sui Jixiang, Director of the Zhanchen Science Popularization Center, titled "Exploring the Mysteries of the Earth and Roaming the Mineral World", showcases colorful minerals, introduces their properties, characteristics, and applications in human life, leading children to experience the unique charm of minerals, inspiring them to explore and devote themselves to research, using knowledge to benefit humanity, and using technology to lead the future.

Xiang Bowen, a science popularization worker at the Shaw Museum, taught his classmates about "Mohs hardness" and minerals, and led them to polish fluorite gemstones together. At the same time, it introduced the relevant situation of the "Yifu Museum Flying Wing College Student Science and Technology Volunteer Service - Ecological Civilization Science Popularization into Campus" project.

Members of the 24th Graduate Teaching Group of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) distributed Morse hardness testers and fluorite gemstone specimens to their classmates. During the process of manually polishing mineral specimens, the children discovered the beauty of science and life, and developed an interest in earth science. Li Xinyuan, a child, said, "It's the first time I've seen beautiful and dazzling minerals and glowing night pearls. It's amazing! When I grow up, I need to study hard and learn more about exciting minerals

Wei Shili, a member of the graduate support teaching group, expressed the hope that through the World Earth Day series of activities, the seeds of love for earth science can be planted in the hearts of primary and secondary school students in western China. Starting from small steps, we can jointly protect the environment and build a beautiful China where humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
