Recently, the teachers and students of CUG performed well in Wuhan Popular Science Narrator Competition and Hubei Popular Science Narrator Competition, awarded one special prize, one second prize, two third prizes and two excellent organization awards in succession, and one student honored “Top Ten Science Popularization Messengers in Hubei Province in 2021”.

In the final of Wuhan Popular Science Narrator Competition held on July 8th, Li Hongjia, student of the School of Arts and Communication in year 2020, presented the challenges and countermeasures that Zhu Rong Rover will face after landing on Mars with the title “Extreme Survival Challenges of Zhu Rong”, which won the special prize, and our school won the Excellent Organization Award.

At the final of the 2021 Hubei Popular Science Narrator Competition held on July 10th, Wei Yi from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information won the second prize and was awarded the “Top Ten Science Popularization Messengers in Hubei Province in 2021”. Ding Jie and Li Hongjia from the School of Arts and Communication won the third prize, and our school is honored the Excellent Organization
Awarding Spot of Wuhan Science Popularization Competition
Hosted by Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau, the Wuhan Popular Science Narrator Competition takes “Science and Technology Self-reliance Creating a Better Life” as the theme. Through autonomous proposition and random proposition, 30 contestants interpreted crude and difficult scientific knowledge in a simple and interesting way, presenting an wonderful and informative science popularization audio-visual “feast”.

Sponsored by Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province and undertaken by South-Central Minzu University, the theme of Hubei Popular Science Narrator Competition is “Looking Back in a Hundred Years: The Communist Party of China Led the Development of Science and Technology”. Nearly 1,000 contestants participated, ranging from 19 to 49 years old. More than 2 million people participated in and watched the competition, and nearly 400,000 people watched the final live online, which made Hubei Popular Science Narrator Competition one of the events with the widest spread, the largest audience and the most far-reaching influence in all previous science popularization competitions.
In recent years, our school has attached great importance to the work of science popularization and the construction of volunteer team. In addition, good results in various science popularization competitions held by organizations and units at all levels have been achieved. Previously, our school hosted the preliminary competition in colleges and universities, and selected 10 contestants including Li Hongjia, Ding Jie and Wei Yi to participate in the final of the competition.
